Eleanor Keinath

Eleanor Sholtes Keinath 1921-2013 AGAWAM- Eleanor S. Keinath, 91, died on February 11th at Heritage Hall North in Agawam surrounded by her loving family. Born in Washington DC., she graduated early from high school and received a full scholarship to George Washington University where she majored in language. Upon graduation, Eleanor moved to NYC where she worked as a propaganda analyst for the War Dept. Eleanor then moved to Springfield to be near her brother where she worked for Mass Mutual until her marriage to Albert Keinath. Years later she furthered her education at Central Conn. State College where Eleanor received her teaching certificate and then received a Masters in Education from the University of Hartford. Eleanor spent the next 20 years teaching in public schools in surrounding towns. Eleanor leaves her only son, Albert L. Keinath and his wife, Pearl Keinath of Wilbraham; her grandchildren; Albert E. Keinath and his wife Andrea of Sunnyvale, Ca, Brendon Keinath and his wife Sarah of Houston, Tx, and Christopher Keinath of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves two great-grandchildren; Julia and Peyton Keinath of Ca. There are no calling hours. A Memorial service will be held for Eleanor at a later date. Donations may be made in Eleanor’s memory to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew Street in Spfld, Ma. 01104. For online condolences please visit
