Richard A. Borsari 1931-2013 WEST SPRINGFIELD-Richard A. Borsari, 81, passed away at home Saturday surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield son of the late Adolfo and Adelcisa Borsari, he was the youngest of six children. He grew up in West Springfield, graduated from W.S. High School and went immediately to work in the family business. He was President of Borsari Oil; he served six years as commissioner of W.S. Park and Recreation and was a life long member of the Dante Club and Deadline Gang. He was also a founding member of the Exposition Area Scholarship Fund. Dickie’s loves were his family and friends. He had a passion for life, good food and cooking and made many friends along the way. He leaves three sons, Richard Borsari and his wife Sheila of W. Springfield, Thomas Borsari and his wife Maureen of Agawam and Daniel Borsari and his wife Mary Ellen of Feeding Hills, six grandchildren, Rebecca Eggleston, Kate, Richie, Danielle, Thomas V., and Krista Borsari and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Springer) in 2002, his brother Andrew and sisters Anna Lefebvre, Inez Morando, Helen Boido and Jenny Cena. He also leaves many cousins in Italy, the Pirani’s in Cento and Borsari’s in Finale Emilia. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 am in the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home.
