Mark Kaplan, 63, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 26, 2026.  Born in Holyoke, son of the late Simon and Florence (Palys) Kaplan, he was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and a 1981 graduate of West Springfield High School.  Mark worked for forty-four years as a lead person for the former DFF corporation, now Cadrex Manufacturing in Agawam.  He was a Red Sox fan, loved traveling, gardening, flowers and walks with his dog, Stitch.  Mark also loved sci-fi and super hero movies and was a big fan of Pokémon Go.  He leaves his wife of thirty-seven years, Kimberly (Douglas) Kaplan, a son, Nicholas W. and his wife Eileen Kaplan of West Springfield, a daughter, Katherine M. Kaplan of West Springfield, a brother, Matthew Kaplan of Belleview, FL, a sister, Lynn and her husband Michael McElwain of Belleview, FL, a granddaughter, Alexandria Kaplan of West Springfield, a nephew, Alex Suesse and a niece, Jessee Debrea. Calling hours are Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10am-12noon at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, followed by a funeral home service at 12noon. The burial will be private.
