Obituary

Abigail (Santiago) Cortes, 76, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Mercy Medical Center.  Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Heraclio and Margarita (Rivera) Santiago, she came to New York in 1963 and lived in Springfield for over fifty years.  Abigail worked for over twenty-five years for National Metal Industries in West Springfield and was a communicant of the former All Souls Church and now a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.  Her husband, Manfredo Cortes died in 2012.  She leaves a son and his wife, Wilfredo and Marisol (Cruz) Cortes, a daughter, Margarita Camacho all of Springfield, a brother, José Santiago and a sister, Zoraida Robles both of Puerto Rico, four granddaughters, Amanda Camacho, Victoria Cortes, Samantha Cortes, Kimberly Cortes, and nine great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street with a Mass at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 40 Waverly Street followed burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, both in Springfield. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm.
