Obituary

Ada L. (Gonzalez) Cordero, 79, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Isabelino and Zoraida (Ayala) Gonzalez, she lived in Cayey, Puerto Rico before moving to Springfield in 1961.  She was the owner of Isabela's Market in Springfield and an active member of the Spanish Christian Church Assembly of God.  She was predeceased by a son, Nelson Cordero. She leaves her husband of sixty years, Israel Cordero Tirado, a son, Nicholas Cordero of West Springfield, two daughters, Ana Raquel Cordero of West Springfield, Marlene Cordero-Ward of Riverview, FL, six sisters, Ada Irma Garrafa, Ana Fontanez, Alba Olmeda, Awilda Piñero, Adina Gonzalez, Alicia Serrano, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am at the Spanish Christian Church Assembly of God, 565 Chestnut Street followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, all in Springfield.  Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8pm at the church.  For online condolences, please visit www.curranjones.com
