WEST SPRINGFIELD – Agnes L. "Aggie" (Manferdini) Remington, 89, formerly of Elm Street died Monday in Mercy Hospital. Aggie was born in West Springfield, graduated in 1940 from West Springfield High School and has lived here all her life. She started her career working at Pratt & Whitney for 4 years, then went to work at WICO Electric for 38 years and finally retired from Stop & Shop after 10 years. A communicant of the former St. Ann's Church, she also belonged to the Deadline Gang. Her husband Roger R. Remington died in 2002. She leaves her brother Raymond Manferdini and his wife Shirley of Springfield; a sister Irene Hutchinson of Springfield; a sister-in-law Irene Remington of Agawam and many nieces and nephews, including a grand niece and caregiver Kristin L. Martinez and her husband Stuart of Ellington, CT. Aggie also leaves her many dear friends at the Holyoke Mall. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 9:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
