Alan Joseph Habhab, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 29, 2024. Born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Dr. Homode J. and Mary (Calnan) Habhab, R.N. Alan was the grandson of Lebanese immigrants and the great-grandson of Irish immigrants. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School and served in the United States Army. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradford College in Haverhill. He later received his Master of Fine Arts degree with a specialty in creative writing, from Eastern Washington University. He was Regular Army, an adjunct English professor, a poet, and writer. Alan volunteered and served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War period. He leaves a brother, Richard A. Habhab, Esq. of Easthampton; a sister, Sara Habhab, Esq. of Pittsfield; two nieces, Dr. Danelle Habhab and Mya Robertson, NP; and several great-nieces and a great-nephew. A service in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam will be on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge.
