Alan Armond Leporati, 71, of Agawam, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, MA, Alan was the son of the late Albert and Concetta (Palombella) Leporati. Alan graduated from Agawam High School and Springfield Technical Community College. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves, serving for 6 years. He was employed by various local companies over the decades, always working hard to provide for his family. Alan was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and previously St. Ann Church, where he volunteered cleaning the church, parking cars during the Big E, and making tortellini. Alan enjoyed hiking, reading, building model planes, a good cigar on occasion, and especially spending time with his children. Alan's faith was very important to him and helped sustain him through many challenging times. Predeceased by his son Jeffrey in 2011, Alan leaves his daughter Chiara M. Leporati of Chicopee, sons Andrew A. Leporati of West Spfld, Thomas G. and his wife Rebecca Leporati of South Hadley, Joseph R. and his wife Annika Leporati of Washington and Christian P. Leporati of Connecticut. Alan also leaves his sisters, Susan Cavallon and her husband Jack of West Spfld, Sandy Walters of Westfield, and his brother, Jeffrey Leporati of FL. Calling hours for Alan will be Monday, May 23, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 at St Thomas Church, 47 Pine St, West Springfield. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Alan's name be made to the Dominican Nuns Monastery, 1430 Riverdale Street, West Springfield, MA 01089.
