Obituary

Albert Medvetsky, 83, died Tuesday at the Soldier's Home in Holyoke. Albert was born in New York City the son of Peter and Mary (Brinza) Medvetsky and has lived in the West Springfield area most of his life. He was a retired correctional officer for the State of Connecticut, retiring in 1988. He served 7 years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a past secretary for the Polish American Veterans Club in Chicopee. He was a member of the New England Computer Society in Springfield and was an avid fisherman. His wife Charlotte (Fowler) Medvetsky died in 2002. He leaves two daughters Cheryl Medvetsky of Monson and Rose Condarcuri and her husband Frank of West Springfield, a sister Betty Klostermeyer of High Point, NC and his two grandchildren Jennifer Slora and her husband Eric and Frankie Condarcuri. A committal service will be held in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam Friday at 10 am. There are no calling hours and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
