Aldo C. Vieceli
1925 – 2014

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Aldo C. "Nono" Vieceli, 88, of Pease Avenue died Sunday at the Atrium in Agawam. Aldo was born in Agawam, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Piccin) Vieceli. He has lived in West Springfield all his life. He owned and operated A. Vieceli Mason Contractors for over 50 years. Aldo served with the United States Army's Tank Corps and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day. He loved traveling with his wife, spending time with his granddaughters and great grandchildren and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Dante Club, the Deadline Gang and loved to watch the History channel and westerns on TV. His wife Mildred (Haas) Vieceli died in 1994. He leaves a son John A. Vieceli and his wife Kristine of West Springfield; two granddaughters Megan Krupienski and her husband James and Amy Vieceli; two great grandchildren James and Hayley Krupienski and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son Michael in 1965 and his sisters Ada Haley and Anna Vieceli. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 11:00am with burial in Paucatuck Cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Shriner's Hospital.
