Alfred L. Bardier Jr.
1931-2013

WEST SPRINGFIELD-Our beloved Al (82) left us and was called to Heaven on Sept. 27, 2013. He was born on March 2, 1931 in Queens, NY, son of Albertine and Alfred Bardier. Loving husband of 59 years to Beryl (Beasley). He also leaves behind his brother, Charles of Burlington, VT. Beloved father of Karen Niedzielski, Charlene and husband Robert Carpenter, Paula and husband Brian Hyte, and Steven Bardier. Grandchildren: Robert, Michael, Allison, Melissa, Ellie, Sarah, Lauren and Leah. Great grandchildren: Wynter, Trent, Zoey, Anaken, Rilee and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. He served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Francis M. Robinson, during the Korean War. He retired after 37 years as a machinist from the Strathmore Paper Company. He was a lifelong resident of the town of West Springfield and communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle in West Springfield. He was an active member of the AMVETS, American Legion, Tatham Social Club, Verdi Club and VFW Post 6714, where he also served in the Honor Guard. Besides spending time with his family and friends, he loved to travel, especially spending part of each summer in York Beach, ME. He enjoyed golf, playing billiards and cards, and watching Notre Dame Football. He will greatly missed, but never forgotten. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 12 noon at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home follow by committal services with Military Honors at the Veterans' Cemetery in Agawam.
