Alfred A. Bernard
1938 – 2015

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Alfred A. Bernard, 77, of Sunnyside Street died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Al was born in Springfield the son of the late Alfred A. and Margaret (Pasquale) Bernard. He was a 1958 graduate of West Springfield High School and has lived here all his life. He was a 20-year Heavy Equipment Operator for the West Springfield Engineering Department retiring in 1986 and a member of the American Legion. He leaves his daughter Lynn Ann D'Agustino of Palmer; sister Rose Bombero of Oxford, CT, three brothers Matthew Bernard of West Springfield, Robert and Henry Bernard of Abita Springs, LA; a stepdaughter Carol Ann; his former wife Joan Reed of Enfield; a dear friend/caregiver Paul Bingham and his wife Sabine and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Lillian Beaudoin. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 10:00am.
