Alfred C. Fairhurst Jr.

1940 – 2020

AGAWAM – Alfred C. Fairhurst Jr., 79 died peacefully at home Friday morning. Alfred was born in Manchester, NH the son of the late Alfred and Edna (Douville) Fairhurst. He grew up in New Hampshire and at the age of 18 joined the United States Air Force. He earned the rank of Master Sargent retiring after 22 years in 1980. He then went to work as a Weight and Balance Engineer for 20 years at Pratt & Whitney. After his retirements he worked odd jobs, but most of all enjoyed golf at St. Ann's Country Club, where he spent most of his time. His wife of 58 years, Pamela (Ryan) Fairhurst died last year. He leaves his children Thomas Fairhurst, Kathryn Meade and Greg Fairhurst and his six grandchildren, Meghan Fairhurst, Nicholas Fairhurst, Sean Meade, Alyssa Meade, Indiana Fairhurst, and Benjamin Fairhurst. A private burial will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be held by appointment only.
