West Springfield- Alice Frances (Hartig) Malone, 107, West Springfield's oldest resident for the past four years, died peacefully Saturday morning, March 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Springfield, on March 2, 1915, to Jennie Mae and Edward Hartig. She lived in West Springfield for most of her life. She was a graduate of West Springfield High School and was an active communicant of the former Church of Good Shepherd. She loved working in her gardens, watching the birds, doing game books and puzzles. Most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren and their families. She was everyone's Nana. Her husband, Joseph Malone, whom she married in 1938, died in 1980. She was also predeceased by her only daughter, Jane Nora Easton, in 1993. She leaves her grandchildren, Tammie Easton, Timothy Easton and his wife Jennifer, Jennie Tremblay and her husband Michael, her great grandchildren, Nicole Prizzi and her husband Steven, Tyler Tremblay, Chase and Jaden Easton, her great-great grandchildren, Tavner and Jolene Prizzi, a son-in-law and his wife, Truman and Lynn Easton, a sister, Caroline Dion and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and daughter, she was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, Fredrick, and Robert Hartig, and a sister, Elizabeth Polastry. A private graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For online condolences, please visit curranjones.com.
