Alice Rose
Rolland

It is with a heavy heart the Rolland family announces the passing of their mother, Alice Rose (McTiernan) Rolland, 84, of Feeding Hills and Bonita Springs, FL, on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Alice entered into everlasting life surrounded by the love and compassion of her devoted family. Born in Springfield, to the late Terrence and Anna (Hartford) McTiernan, Alice was a 1953 graduate of Cathedral High School and attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She was the beloved wife of Lionel (Lee) Rolland who predeceased her in 1999. A devoted homemaker and mother to five children, she was active in their education, sports, music, and professional lives. Alice was the neighborhoods mom where kids went to play and feel safe. With her children grown, she then worked and retired from the United States Postal Service. Alice and Lee loved the ocean and traveled the world, a tradition she continued with her sister, Anne "Nancy" McLaughlin who predeceased her in 2018. Alice was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills and a member of the Hungry Hill Book Club. Known for her Irish humor and kind heart, Alice also enjoyed playing cards at the Agawam Senior Center and was a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox. Alice's greatest joy was spending time with her family, but also amassed a group of incredible friends with whom she shared a lifetime of memorable adventures. Alice is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Lisa Rolland and her partner, Ralph Liebro of Feeding Hills, Mark and his wife Cori of Southwick, Matthew of Feeding Hills, Michelle Fisher and her husband Scott of Huntersville, NC. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph in 2018. She also leaves seven cherished grandchildren, Jillian, James, Melissa and Matthew Rolland and Scott, Allison and Elisabeth Fisher, and her brother-in-law, Glen of Florida.
