SPRINGFIELD-Amalio M. Rivera, 77, died Monday in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, lived in Enfield for most of his life before coming to Springfield 20 years ago. He was a retired machine operator for the former Choice Vending Company in Windsor, CT. His wife of 54 years Arlene Rivera died last year. He leaves a son Michael Rivera of Chicopee, a daughter Arlene Soto of Springfield, two grandchildren Ramona and Joshua Soto and many brothers and sisters. The funeral will be Friday at 12Noon at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral on Friday morning from 11-12 Noon. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
