Amy Marie Lewis grew up in Chicopee, MA graduating with the class of '95 from Chicopee High School.  She made her Holy Confirmation at 18 years old through St. Patrick's Parish. She worked in the service industry as a waitress while putting herself through college earning her A.A. Degree from Holyoke Community College and then being accepted into nursing school at A.I.C. in Springfield, MA. She did this while always contributing to the well being of her younger siblings, nieces, and nephews. She had a strong commitment to her recovery community and was an advocate for 12-Step meetings.  After the passing of her mother, Amy struggled mightily, and then entered a Christian recovery program, Teen Challenge New England where she was baptized October 6, 2024 and graduated successfully on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.  Amy was reestablishing her life in Enfield, CT, attending meetings regularly, Bible studies and church at Grace and Glory. She was being embraced and reconnecting with her family in her sobriety. The hidden pain of addiction sadly and unexpectedly took her from us. We trust she is now at peace in the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with her mother. Amy was predeceased by her mother Charlene Alger. She leaves her father Randy Lewis, her step father Melvin Cosme Sr., her sisters Kelse Cosme, Stephanie Thompson and Angela Araujo, her brothers; Melvin Cosme Jr., Jason Lewis, Jarred Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Adam Lewis and Cody Lewis, along with her lifelong best friend and sister in Christ, Mona Beaulieu. A Prayer Service will be held Sun Aug 24th at 3 PM at the CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 MAIN ST., W. SPFLD. A Calling Hour will be held from 2 PM to 3 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
