Andrew A. Calvanese, 66, passed away peacefully after a long illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Pepe) Calvanese. Andrew was an army veteran of the Vietnam War and was later employed by ConRail and the United States Postal Service. He is survived by his two sons, Anthony and Joseph, both of Hampden, his father, Anthony F. Calvanese of Agawam and his brother Anthony, Jr. and husband William of Orlando, Florida. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Mary Grimaldi who was Andrew's best friend and caregiver. Her compassion and care provided him with the most joy during his final years. The family is also grateful to staff at Berkshire Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center and the Veteran's Administration for their constant care during Andrew's last years. The funeral will be Thursday at 1pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 12 - 1pm.
