Angela
Latour
October 30, 1928 – July 18, 2023
Angela (Laboranti) Latour, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. Angela was born in New York on October 30, 1928 to the late Louis and Maria (Ravetta) Laboranti, who were from Dorno, Province of Pavia, Italy. She lived the majority of her life in West Springfield but always shared fond memories of her time in New York; like buying a hot dog with her father for 5 cents on Sundays, playing in Central Park and picking the best watermelon from the back of a horse drawn carriage. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1946 and went on to work at the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for many years before becoming a stay at home mom. Angela met her late husband, Lawrence Latour in 1949 and they married in 1950. Together they had a wonderful marriage and raised three sons, Mark of Staten Island, NY, Michael and his wife Debi of Springfield and Richard and his wife Ellen of Westfield. She spent forty wonderful summers at her family's vacation homes in Cape Hatteras (Frisco, NC) and Cape Cod (Harwich, MA), where she had many dear friends. Angela leaves five grandchildren, Rachel Trant and her husband Jeffrey of Westfield, Sarah Kenney and her husband Todd of Longmeadow, Zachary and his partner Becca of Chelmsford, Caitlin Bruscoe and her husband Shane of Ellington, CT and Mairead Kelly of Springfield. She also leaves seven great grandchildren, Emily, Teeghan, Raeghan, Deachlan, Finnleigh, Isabella and Rome. Her family was her world, and she will be missed deeply. Angela has many beloved family and friends that she leaves behind, especially, her sister Ernestine and her husband Frederick "Teddy" Pugliano of Palm Beach Garden, FL and her sister-in-law and dear friend, Florence Hammond of Springfield as well as many nieces and nephews. Angela is predeceased by her brother, Albert Laboranti and his wife Anne. Angela was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and later of St. Thomas the Apostle, both in West Springfield. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Beacon Hospice and the Arbors for assisting in the care of Angela. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Calling hours are on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:30am with funeral service at 12:00pm at Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield followed by burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to the Marine Corps League Westfield River Valley Detachment 141 located at 71 North Elm Street, Westfield, Ma 01085.
