Angelina
Lariviere
October 18, 1924 – October 22, 2023
Angelina Ann (DeDeurwaerder) LaRiviere, 99, of Day Brook Village Nursing Center passed away on Sunday morning, October 22, 2023. Angie was born in Springfield, MA on October18, 1924 to the late Alphonse and Amelia (Pio) DeDeurwaerder. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 70 years, Raymond LaRiviere and two brothers, Alphonse Jr. and Andrew DeDeurwaerder. Angie worked as a secretary for the former Zayre department store in Agawam and later was promoted to their regional office in Springfield, a job she was very proud of. Angie was a very social person, always enjoyed being in charge. She loved to travel and when at home, she loved to cook. Her motto was "if you can read, you can cook." Angie lived in Feeding Hills in a home she helped Ray build, brick by brick. After their children were grown and on their own, they retired to their summer home in Otis where she was active with the council on aging. She made many dear friends whom she held a very deep love for while helping to plan trips, etc. She never wanted to move far from them. Friends were the most important people in her life. Upon Ray's waning health, they sold their home in Otis and purchased a condo in Southwick where they resided until Ray's passing. Angie is survived by a son and his wife, Wayne and Martha LaRiviere, a daughter and her husband, Laura and Ken Oliver, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Angie's ashes will be interred beside Ray's in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA. All services will be private and the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME is in charge. Thank you to Pioneer Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for keeping Mom comfortable during her final journey. Memorial contributions can be sent to Pioneer Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 329 Conway Street, Suite2, Greenfield, MA 01301 or to a charity of one's choice.
