Obituary

Angelo A. Polumbo, 96, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, son of the late Giovanni and Donatantonia (Sticco) Polumbo, he lived in Feeding Hills most of his life. Angelo was a retired consultant for Young Engineering. Previously he worked for the former Springfield Armory and Hamilton Standard where he was a research and development engineer. He was a member of the West Springfield/Agawam Lodge of Elks # 2174 and the Knights of Columbus Unity Council # 2212 in West Springfield. Angelo was an avid bowler and was active with the Senior Olympics. He was a World War II army veteran, a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed woodworking and making furniture and toys for his family and grandchildren. He leaves his wife of thirty-six years, Christine M. (Misisco) Polumbo, a son and his wife, Angelo J. and Phyllis Polumbo of Feeding Hills, three step-sons and their wives, Mark J. and Rebecca Fiorentino of Port Charlotte, FL, Paul J. and Deborah Fiorentino, Peter J. and Joyce Fiorentino all of Westfield, six grandchildren, Terriann Polumbo, Joseph, James, Mary, Michael and Peter Fiorentino, and a great-granddaughter, Ava Fiorentino. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Polumbo and a sister, Rose Barbieri. The funeral will be Monday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. The burial will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery.
