Ann A. Bara

1941 – 2021

West Springfield – Ann A. Bara, 79, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday morning.  Ann was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield all her life.  Ann married Edward Bara in 1959, they were married for 59 years before his passing in 2019.  She worked as a paraprofessional for the West Springfield School System for 27 years, before retiring in 2016.  She loved her job and touched the hearts of all of the children she worked with each and every day.  She had a great love for her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and most recently her three great grandchildren who brought much joy to her life and put many smiles on her face.  She leaves her  children Rosemary Cocchi and her husband Ralph, Edward Bara Jr. and Jason Bara, her grandchildren Joseph Cocchi and his wife Ashley, Edward Bara III, Samantha Bara, Nicholas Cocchi and his wife Meagan, Melissa Ancelli, and her husband Paul; her great grandchildren Crew, Abigail, and Jacob; and a sister Josephine Smith and her husband Greg.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00am followed by a funeral home service at 11:00am with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
