Ann Mary Bradford

Agawam– Ann Mary (Hoffman) Bradford, 77 of Agawam, died April 3, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center. On lovely spring days Ann Mary loved walking with her husband, Wesley. Sunday they were enjoying their daily walk when she had an unfortunate fall. Ann Mary was born in Narragansett, R.I. to Milford and Annie Hoffman. She was a graduate of Gordon College and Framingham State College receiving her Masters in Education. Ann Mary accepted a position in Agawam in 1968. She had a passion for teaching and encouraging students to do their best. After finishing courses in Gifted Education, she developed Agawam's first gifted education program, Project S.E.E. Ann Mary gained much appreciation from all the hearts she touched in Agawam. After her retirement, along with her husband, Wesley, she volunteered in many town services including: the Beautification Committee, Friends of the Library, N.A.M.I, and PFLAG.
Ann was also a member of South Congregational Church in Springfield and The Agawam Garden Club. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Wesley Bradford; Her children, Peter Bradford of Worcester, Ruth Haley of Hampden, Forrest Bradford of Agawam, and Laura (Polly) Bradford of Florida; her grandchildren William and Dylan Haley, Dana and Christine Ramponi, and her golden retriever, Precious. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home. Ann Mary's funeral service will be held on Friday (her birthday) at 11:00 am at the Agawam Methodist Church. A private burial will be held in the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Agawam.
