Anna (Gaschewa) Rajewski

1923 – 2017

SPRINGFIELD – Anna (Gaschewa) Rajewski, 93, died peacefully in a local nursing home Sunday morning.  Anna was born in Seytler, Crimea and has lived in Germany and Belgium before coming to the United States in 1956.  She was a retired seamstress for the William Carter Company in Springfield and spent time as a mentor to Russian students in the Springfield School System.  She was a longtime member of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church.  She leaves her husband of 70 years Leonid Rajewski; a daughter Irene Provost and her husband Ron of West Springfield and a grandson Scott Provost.  Visiting hours for Anna will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 9:00am – 10:00am.  The funeral and burial will be private.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 334 North Maple Street, Enfield, CT 06082.
