Anne Marie (Lisi) Lancour

1960 - 2019

Anne Marie (Lisi) Lancour, daughter of the late Pierino and Claire (Gorman) Lisi, passed away peacefully at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia on October 25, 2019.  Anne Marie was born on May 20, 1960 in Binghamton, New York. She attended Seton Catholic Central High School, where she would eventually teach. She received her BA from Le Moyne College and her Master's in Education from Binghamton University.  After teaching for several years she then received her JD from Western New England University School of Law.  Anne Marie worked as an attorney for Broome County Social Services for five years where she tried many cases involving child and adult protective services.  After her marriage, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and became a staff attorney for the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law in Washington, D.C., eventually rising to associate director.  During her twenty-six years of service she developed many successful projects and training programs and was considered a national expert in children's law.  Anne Marie loved music and was a talented singer and musician. She devoted many tireless hours as a PTA volunteer and band and dance parents' booster. She was also an avid knitter.  Anne Marie is survived by her husband, Robert, of Alexandria, a daughter, Brenna, of Lexington, Kentucky, a sister, Helen Lee and her husband Lance of Vestal, New York, and her mother-in-law Katherine Lancour of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Claire.  Anne Marie is also survived by two godsons, Matthew Lee and Joseph Salvagno, and a large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted friends. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Alexandria Hospital for their attentive care during Anne Marie's final hospitalization.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:00am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 10:00am followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
