Anne-Marie Aas-Salamenta

1955 – 2018

AGAWAM – Anne-Marie Aas-Salamenta, 63, a most beautiful, dignified, creative, intelligent, thoughtful, caring and sensitive woman to grace this earth went to heaven to be with the lord, her parents and four legged friends Monday October 29, 2018.  A short battle with cancer took her from us far too soon and fast.  She was a member of the Laurel and Glenbrooke Swim Teams of East Hartford while attending Watkinson School in Hartford, CT.  She was also part of the Queens College Swim Team in Charlotte N.C. where she graduated. A passion to learn and grow found her in the restaurant business, home and building restoration business and banking across the country.  Her greatest passion was her family especially her daughter Julia and Husband Thomas.  The family was only completed by her beloved dogs Max and Hudson and cats Iggy and Paddy.  She became a self-taught gourmet cook and loved doing crafts.  Anne-Marie's favorite saying was "be a happy camper".  We are all happier for her being in our life.  She leaves her husband of 29 years Thomas Salamenta; daughter Julia Aas-Salamenta; brother Paul Aas and his wife Patricia and their daughters Jacqueline and Alexandra Aas; Sister-in-law Joan Brown and her husband Jim and their daughter Megan; brother-in-law William Salamenta and a best friend Judy "Pigger" Walker.  Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
