AnnMarie Guiel, 65 of Agawam, died Sunday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late John S. and Gloria (Guerra) Guiel. Ann Marie graduated from Chamberlain Jr College, UMASS, and the Rhode Island School of Design and lived most of her life in Agawam and Boston. She had worked as a corporate designer for Mass Mutual for many years and currently worked at Chez Josef and D.K. Douglas Company. Ann Marie was an accomplished skier, seamstress, quilter, gardener, baker, painter and weaver. She was a gifted artist and was known for her original artwork. She loved to entertain and decorate for the holidays and especially loved to bake holiday cookies and desserts. Ann Marie leaves her loving family, brother John A. Guiel and sister-in-law Jacquelyn of Feeding Hills, her sister Roberta A. Berte and her brother-in-law R. Keith of San Jose, CA. She was dearly loved by her nieces Monique and Ashley, nephew Andrew, and her six great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best friend Dayle and her beloved Old English Sheep dog Lucy. She was a kind, generous, loving person to all that knew her and will be deeply missed by neighbors, friends, and family. Her family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Mercy Medical Center ICU for all their compassionate care shown to Ann Marie. The funeral home service will be Saturday November 17th at 11 am at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
