Anthony C. Bonavita, 73, passed away on October 19, 2026. He was born in Springfield, the son of the late Carlo and Mary (Liquori) Bonavita.

A lifelong resident of Agawam, Anthony married his high school sweetheart, Adele (Rueli) Bonavita, and they shared 51 years of marriage until her passing on October 2, 2025. He also leaves his brothers, Carlo P. Bonavita and his wife Rosanne of Westfield, and Michael Bonavita of Agawam, along with several nieces and nephews.

Anthony was a graduate of Fordham University and Suffolk Law School. He practiced law in Agawam and Springfield for many years, mentoring young lawyers and serving on the Hampden County Committee for Public Counsel Services. He was active in politics for decades, serving as Agawam Town Solicitor, on the Town Council and the School Committee, and as a candidate in the town’s first mayoral election.
