Anthony J. Gallerani, 31, entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2015 from injuries sustained in a helicopter accident in Oregon. Born in Springfield, he grew up in West Springfield and was a 2002 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Westfield where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He was on the debate team, was on As School Match Wits and played tennis. He was also a 2013 graduate of Western New England University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Anthony was a Specialist in the United States Army from 2005 to 2012, where he served in Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also stationed at Ft. Lewis in Seattle, WA. Presently he was a helicopter instructor for Precision Aviation in Newberg, OR. Previously he worked as an orderly for Baystate Medical Center, Pilgrim Candle and as a line service technician at Cigna. He leaves his father, James A. Gallerani of Agawam, his mother, Andrea (Pacitti) Patruno of West Springfield, his fiancée, Katherine E. Army of Enfield, two sisters, Maria J. Gallerani of West Springfield, Regina L. Gallerani and her fiancé, Kevin M. Krupczak both of Agawam, his niece, Emmeline L. Gallerani and his favorite dog, Queso. The funeral will be Friday at 10am from the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley with a Mass at 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony Street, Chicopee followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
