Anthony G. Saville

1922 – 2018

West Springfield – Anthony G. Saville, 95, of Main Street died Thursday at home surrounded by his loving family.   Anthony was born in Springfield, son of the late Salvator and Concetta (Russo) Saville and has lived in West Springfield all his life.  He graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School and West Springfield High School.  He fought at Iwo Jima for the United States Navy during World War II.  A longtime Self-Employed Plumbing and Heating contractor, he retired in 2001.  He leaves his wife of 54 years Gloria (Manarite) Saville; a son Anthony G. Saville Jr., several nieces and nephews and his canine companions Molly & Dolly.  He was predeceased by his sister Pauline Alexander.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Mercy Hospice for the wonderful care given.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Hospice, 1236 Main Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
