AGAWAM – Antonio C. Aversa Jr., of Suffield Street died Friday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born in West Springfield and has lived in Agawam over 40 years. He worked as a computer operator for Baystate Medical Center and previously at Reed Package Machinery. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills and served in the United States Army. He leaves his wife of 45 years Barbara B. (Nosek) Aversa; a daughter Robyn Aversa of Springfield; two brothers William Collins Jr. and Thomas Hebert and his wife Mary; five grandchildren Kaila, Darcee, Timothy, Autumn and Damien. He also leaves five great grandchildren and his dear friend and more recently "caretaker" Leo Marin. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
