Armen Bagian
1943 – 2015
WEST SPRINGFIELD – Armen Bagian, 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 14th. Born in Whitinsville, March 25, 1943, he was the son of the late Simon and Lousig Bagian. He attended Northbridge Schools and continued on to attend Lowell Technical Institute where he received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and was a member of the Kappa Phi Fraternity. He worked for the United States Navy Department in Portsmouth, NH and Washington D.C. He leaves his brother Paul Bagian and his wife Araxie; two sisters Margaret Garibian and her late husband Richard and Alis "Mary" Poladian and her late husband Andrew. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He loved all sports especially tennis and deep sea fishing and spent many summers vacations at the beach in Rhode Island. He lost his battle to cancer but considered himself the luckiest person to have a loving family and many caring friends locally as well as in D.C., Florida and Texas. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 11:00am with private burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00am.
