WEST SPRINGFIELD – Arthur R. Paddock, 91, of Hampden Street died Thursday at home. Art was born in Springfield, the son of the late Elmer and Edith (Phelps) Paddock, and has lived in West Springfield his entire life. He worked for T.J. Conway Company for 44 years until his retirement was a member of Union local #104. In World War II he served as a combat infantryman for the United States Army during the China Offensive, the India Burma Campaign and the Central Burma Campaign, C.B.I., Mars Task Force. He leaves his wife Eleanor (Steele) Paddock; a son Mark and his wife Linda of Blandford; his sister Caroline McMordie of Agawam; three grandchildren Jessica Paddock, Matthew Paddock and his wife Kristina and Amanda Rocke and her husband Michael. He also leaves two great grandsons Gage Rocke and Cole Paddock. Besides his parents Arthur was predeceased by a sister Arlene Evans and brother Robert Paddock. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
