Barbara J. (Skerry) Capponcelli, 92, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at home. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Frederick L. and Stella D. (Morawski) Skerry, she grew up in West Springfield and was a graduate of West Springfield High School and moved to Agawam in 1952.  Barbara was the retired kitchen manager for the Agawam School System where she worked for over twenty-five years.   She enjoyed cooking, was an artist and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Capponcelli in 2021 and a brother, Frederick L. Skerry, Jr.  She leaves four sons and their wives, Donald C. Jr. and Sandra Capponcelli of Athens, VT, Peter L. and Joan Capponcelli of Sandwich, Barry M. and Tina Capponcelli of Agawam, Bruce A. and Kerry Capponcelli of Brookline, VT, two sisters, Joyce Bergstrom of Belchertown, Priscilla Skerry of Portland, ME, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10.
