Barbara R. Crowley

December 7, 1930 – April 29, 2018

Barbara Rose (Sullivan) Crowley, 87, formerly of West Springfield, MA, Agawam, MA and East Granby, CT died peacefully on Sunday evening, April 29, 2018 at the Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury, MA.  Barbara, the daughter of Francis and Jenny (Blaha) Sullivan, was born in Springfield, MA.  She spent her earlier married years at home raising her family.  She later worked for the Town of West Springfield as a Crossing Guard and retired from the Heritage Hall Nursing Home as a Dietary Aid.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Bill, who died in 2008; her infant daughter Kathleen; her two daughters-in-law Barbara (Packard) Crowley and Mary (Maher) Crowley; and her great granddaughter Quinn Pape.  She is survived by her four sons William Jr. and his wife Barbara Kruzewski of Shrewsbury, John of Barnstable, and David and Michael who both live in Russell, MA.  Barbara leaves seven grandchildren:  Brian Crowley, Gregory Crowley and his wife Megan, and Kelley Crowley; Alison (Crowley) Pape and her husband Daniel, and Leanne Crowley Sellers and her husband Joshua; Edward Kruzewski; and Michael Kruzewski and his wife Jennifer.  She also leaves six great grandchildren:  Aiden Crowley; William, Travis and Camille Pape; Finley Rose Crowley Sellers; and Lillian and Evelyn Kruzewski.

The funeral will be held at the Curran-Jones Funeral Home in West Springfield, MA on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:30am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield, MA.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service on Saturday from 10:00–11:30am.  For more details, please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Barbara to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452 or at alz.org/manh.
