WESTFIELD - Barbara A. (Kowal) Tefts, 76, passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 4, 2015 in Westfield. Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Callahan) Kowal. Barbara will be remembered for her spunky, fun-loving personality and her giving spirit. She delighted in making dolls, quilts, and afghans as gifts for family and friends. She leaves her son, Clint Tefts of Gardner, MA, a brother, Theodore Kowal and a sister, Thelma Healey both of Westfield. Barbara was predeceased by her brothers, John Kowal who was from Westfield, James Kowal who was from Clarksville, TN, and a sister, Kathleen Clark who was from Granby, MA. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no calling hours or services. A private burial will be held at a later date. The CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME in South Hadley is in charge.
