Bart Camossi

1931-2023

West Springfield - Original Rink Rat, Korean War Veteran, and world's most caring and compassionate grandfather Bart Camossi passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2023. Born and raised in West Springfield, Bart was the youngest of 5 siblings on the avenue. An avid hockey player at West Springfield High School, he went on to coach for a number of years and even went on to play at American International College. Following his college hockey days, he went into the Navy from 1951-1954 winning many awards for his service. A successful businessman who was the owner of A&B Electric, also built and co-owned Ashley Arms and Olympia manor. Keeping his West Springfield roots strong, he was a member of the Dante Club where he loved to treat his family to their Wednesday Night Dinners. As an older adult, Bart was a member of the speed limits senior hockey team who were the top team at the annual competition held in Santa Rosa California by Charles Schultz of "Peanuts" fame.  He loved his Thursday morning skates with his guys. Bart survived by his wife Anna Camossi, daughter Lisa Camossi, son Mark Camossi, and his granddaughters Carly Camossi, Stephanie Welch, Addison Camossi, and Taylor Camossi. Bart was predeceased by his daughter Lori Camossi and his favorite granddaughter Corey Camossi. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday starting at 12:30pm and ending with a funeral home service at 2:00pm followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  As one of West Side hockey's biggest fans, Bart was adamant that he wanted to support the high school hockey team.
