Obituary

On Friday, November 15, after a very short illness, Beatrice A. (O'Connor) Yvon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Beatrice was born on September 25, 1941 in Thompsonville, CT. to the late Edward and Margaret (Landry) O'Connor. As a young girl, Beatrice lived in Thompsonville, CT surrounded by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and her beloved grandmother, who she held most dear to her heart. Throughout her life, Beatrice served many friends in some of the most well known local establishments such as Betty's Townhouse, The Windmill and Powers Cafe. Later in her life, she sold real estate at both Foresi and Bolduc and Bourque Real Estate. Anyone who knew Beatrice, knew that she absolutely loved her family and her life. She considered herself an incredibly lucky woman and was thankful for everything she had been blessed with in her 78 years. Whether you knew her for 2 hours or 50 years, she made you feel like you were a true friend. Beatrice was married to the love of her life Richard J. Yvon for 54 "glorious years" and together they wrote the perfect love story. They loved to travel together, and spent as much time as they could on the beach in Rhode Island and Florida. Beatrice's greatest pride was her family and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them. Beatrice leaves behind her husband Richard J. Yvon, her three daughters and their husbands, Robin and Jeffrey Nash, Michelle and Paul Serafino and Riki-Anne and Thomas Landers. She was predeceased by her son Timothy A. Yvon in 2008. She also leaves behind her seven grandsons, who were her absolute pride and joy, Matthew Nash (Riley Mattina), Jeremy Nash, Owen and Quinn Serafino and Aidan, Finnian and Miles Landers. She also leaves behind her sister Monica Devlin and her husband Paul, and was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Rochette. It can't go without mention that Beatrice held all of her girlfriends deep in her heart and although she will be deeply missed, she will be eternally remembered her for wisdom, her love of life and enough stories to last a lifetime. The family would like to thank all of the dedicated nurses from Baystate Hospice and also our dear friend Bobbie Jo Clark, who took such loving care of Beatrice over the past few weeks. The funeral home service will be Wednesday November 20 th at 10 am at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Paucatuck Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4:00 t0 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the West Springfield Library or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
