Benjamin E. West, 84, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born in Westfield, he grew up in Westfield and also lived in Granby and South Hadley. Benjamin worked for the Holyoke Valve & Hydrant company and then Crowley's. He was a member of the Mt. Holyoke Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and the Elks. He was predeceased by a son, Brian West earlier this year and a sister, Carlene West. He leaves a daughter, Donna West of New Bedford, a brother, Roger West of Columbus, MS, two sisters, Shirley Champagne and Gayle Berthiaume both of Chicopee, a grandchild and seven great-grandchildren. The calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley. The burial will be private.
