Beverly J. Walsh
1960 – 2020
AGAWAM – Beverly Jean (Martins) Walsh, 60, quietly passed into eternal rest on Friday, December 4, 2020 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Springfield on October 24, 1960, a beloved daughter of the late Miguel and Ruth (Rennell) Martins. She was educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Medical Lake High School in the state of Washington. Always fond of children, she later attended classes at STCC in order to pursue her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. Beverly was employed for many years in the court system at the Hampden County Registry of Probate, where she formed many deep and lasting friendships. It was there that she first met her husband of nearly twenty years, Attorney William T. Walsh, Jr. She eventually left her position there to care for their young son, and later accepted a position with the Agawam School Department, where she found great fulfillment as a paraprofessional at the Benjamin Phelps Elementary School. Beverly's interests were many and varied. For many years she was a devoted member of the Marksmen Drum and Bugle Corps and had a lifelong love of music of all kinds. She also enjoyed crafting and home decorating and had an eye for quality furnishings. Beverly was kind to a fault and ever generous with her time, always at the forefront for anyone in need, whether it be family member or friend. She also had a deep love for animals and enjoyed traveling to warm climates. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, William T. Walsh, Jr. They were married on February 3, 2001 in West Springfield. She also leaves her devoted son, William T. Walsh III, whom she loved more than life itself. She also leaves her loving sister, Donna Bokish (James), and her brother David Martins (Deborah), all of Sarasota, Florida, as well as her sister Marlene Couture of West Springfield. She also leaves Joanne South of Medicine Lake, Washington, who was like a second mother to her, as well as countless family members and friends. A private funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home. For more online condolences please visit curranjones.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly's name may be made to Benjamin Phelps School PTO, 689 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
