Blanca I. Reyes, 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Blanca was the daughter of the late Daniel Reyes and Aurea Maisonet. She lived in Springfield for most of her life.
Blanca worked for the John H. Breck Company for twenty-seven years before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting and was a communicant of the former All Souls Church and, most recently, Blessed Sacrament Church.
She leaves her son, Pedro Nieves and his wife, Helen, of Windsor Locks, CT; two daughters, Wanda and her husband, Doug Mar, of Spring, TX, and Carmen Nieves and her husband, Alan Bethea, of Springfield; five grandchildren, Sasha, Alexandria, Kevin, Marcus, Heaven; and five great-grandchildren, Diego, Kinsey, Christian, Kai and Kevin.
Blanca was one of nine children and had five brothers and three sisters. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
She also leaves her beloved stepson, Eduardo Nieves, whom she adored and loved as her own.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10am at Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
