Bruce R. Oney, 74, died Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield son of the late Royden and Dorothy (Springer) Oney, moved to West Springfield in 1950 and graduated from West Springfield High School in 1964. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked for Eastern Airlines and Fed Ex. Bruce loved to travel. He has seen all 50 states and over 20 countries. He coached little league football, women's softball, helped at high school sporting events and ran the scoreboard for West Side Football games. He truly loved working with younger people. He leaves a sister Edrie Beaudoin, nephews Michael Kelley, Brian Kelley and his wife Tracy, Connor, nieces Lori Couture and her husband Duane, Brianna, Kendall and Gabby, his special friends Patty Kleeberg and Wilma, many friends and all the people who supported him through the years. All services will be private. West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. He will be buried in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
