Carlton David Crosier was born in West Springfield, MA in 1932 to Carlton and Mildred (McClellan) of West Springfield. David graduated from West Springfield High School (WSHS) in 1950, earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity College in 1954, and then went on to obtain his Master's Degree in Education from UMass Amherst. He participated in The Airforce ROTC program at Trinity and served his active duty in San Antonio, TX. David dedicated his career to academia, teaching economics and history at WSHS for 37 years. Always active in athletics, David played high school and collegiate sports, serving as Captain of the Varsity Baseball team at Trinity College. He later coached varsity baseball for WSHS. David was a distinguished member of society, serving on many organizations in West Springfield.Those particularly notable include, being one of the founding members of Operation Santa Claus Program along with the Parks and Recreation Department, 27 year member of the Housing Authority, the Mittineague Congregational Church, The Parish Cupboard, as well as the town library committee. David also dedicated many years managing the Josiah Day House. With his wife, he earned the Rotary Club's Paul Harris Award. He also earned the Ray DiStephano Citizenship Award. In his past time, David enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann (Harrington) Crosier, daughter, Donna Nicolai of Wakefield, MA, and his son, Douglas and wife, Julie of West Arlington, VT, as well as four grandchildren. The funeral home service will be Friday at 11 am at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home. Calling hours are Thursday 4:00 to 5:30 pm. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
