Carmen M. Allen

SPRINGFIELD – Carmen M. (Fuentes) Allen, 64, died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family. Carmen was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico and has lived in Springfield since 1969. She was a self-employed seamstress for many years. She leaves her husband Edward Allen; two children Juan Tanon of Landover, MD and Marisol Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; stepchildren Robert, David, and Richard Allen; fourteen siblings Alejandra Cabrera, Margarita Fuentes-Negron, Carmen Delia Morales, Maria Cristina Colon, Maria Sonia Rodriquez, Amparo, Andrea, Francisco, Alfredo, Ruben, Flor, Bernardino Jr., Juan and Angel Fuentes; eleven grandchildren Jazmary Gonzalez, Dai'shon Flemmings, William Trevor Brown Jr., Roman, Kristopher and Jaxon Tanon, Stephanie, Nicole, John, James and Clair Allen. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at 9:00am with Liturgy in All Soul's Church at 10:00am followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
