Carol A. Grimaldi

1939 – 2023

West Springfield – Carol A. (Leavitt) Grimaldi, 83, died peacefully Monday afternoon in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loving family.  Carol was born in Blandford the daughter of the late Ward and Esther (Leadbetter) Leavitt.  She was raised in Blandford and Westfield before moving to West Springfield 59 years ago.  She worked as a secretary in the West Springfield Town Hall for the School Department.  An avid golfer, she played in the women's golf leagues at Tekoa Country Club and was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.  She leaves her husband of 59 years Theodore R. Grimaldi; a daughter JoAnn Stuart of Stafford Springs, CT; three grandchildren Chase, Shannon and Blair Stuart and two sisters Linda Palmer and Tharon Williams.  Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her siblings Jack and Orman Leavitt and Sandra Hamann.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to Rays of Hope, c/o Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
