As a young girl Carol enjoyed ice skating and swimming. She spent summers with dear childhood friends at her family cottage on West Hill Lake in New Hartford. She attended St. Mary's School in Newington, belonged to a sorority, graduating from Newington High School in 1964. Upon graduation, Carol worked for Aetna briefly before seeking employment at Dunham-Bush in Hartford, where she was assistant to the chief engineer. It was there that Carol met the love of her life, her husband Jim, whom she married in 1967, and dedicated the next 55 years of her life to. They lived in Burlington, CT for 29 years, relocated to Bristol, and eventually retired in Tequesta, FL, living in their beautiful condo that she loved so much. Carol was very good at planning trips and loved to travel with family and friends. She and Jim traveled in their RV, meeting many new friends along the way. Thanksgiving was a special time, and she would host large family gatherings at the Leone cabin in Chester, MA. Carol loved gardening and flowers, and could identify any if asked. She had played softball, was an avid bowler, and had participated in many leagues. She was a huge fan of the UCONN men and women basketball teams, watching every game. She was very devoted to her family and watching her grandchildren's sports events brought her great joy. She frequented casino's, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her best friends. She was talented with arts and crafts and made many pretty wreaths and floral arrangements. She also collected Byers' Choice figurine carolers, and her themed displays were beautiful. She enjoyed interacting with new friends in Byers' groups and spreading cheer in her daily morning facebook posts. She cherished and maintained many friendships throughout the years. Family and friends will fondly remember her warm and welcoming personality, generous nature, and positive outlook on life. As a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin, and friend, she will be dearly missed, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Carol kept a favorite quote on her desk, "You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future".
