Agawam – Carol J. Taylor, age 79, passed away at Chestnut Hill at East Longmeadow on December 16, 2020. Carol was born in Feeding Hills and lived all her life in Feeding Hills and Agawam. She was born on December 30, 1940 to the late Richard M. Taylor and Marjorie W. (Wilcox) Taylor. She graduated from Agawam High School and attended STCC. She was a City Auditor for the town of Agawam, retiring after 47 years with the town. Carol was dedicated to her profession and the town, and had a clear sense of right, wrong and fairness. She was a member and former treasurer for the Western Mass Auditors and Accountants Association and former member of the Executive Board. She belonged to the Feeding Hills Congregational Church where she was a member for over 60 years. She had served 10 years as Moderator, Finance and Stewardship Committee, sang in the choir and was Church Clerk for over 35 years. She loved and was devoted to both her church and community. She will be missed by her loving sister Linda M. (Leo) Edelman. She is also survived by her cousins, Diann (Robert) Fox, Dorcas (David) Zomek, Gail (Clayton) Cigal, Susan Hansen, Richard A. (Barbara) Skanse and Dena Cosmus. She was predeceased by two cousins, Elliott Jackson, and Luther Hosmer. In addition, Carol leaves close friend Sharon Rozanski whom she considered her "chosen sister". She made friends easily and remained true to her commitments. Carol was known as the "card" lady, she sent greeting cards to friends and shut-ins for every holiday and special occasions. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Springfield Street Cemetery.
