Catherine Natalie (Morena) Duane sadly passed away on July 23, 2026 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Cathy was born in New York City on April 16, 1942 to the late Vincent and Pietrina (Facarra) Morena.

Cathy worked at various customer service jobs for Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, AT&T, Farm Credit Banks, and she finished her career working for the West Springfield School Department. She was also an original side hustler working as an Avon Lady and the owner of Cathy’s Custom Cakes.

She was very creative which came out in her baking, especially her wedding cakes. Every Christmas she would make numerous homemade gingerbread houses and cookies, along with plates and tins of her Italian cookies which were gifted to many. She shared her gift of creativity with her grandchildren Sophie and Jocelyn Coyne. Cathy also loved to sew, knit and crochet. She found time to garden and there was usually a pot of pasta sauce started for Sunday dinner. Cathy loved to make each holiday and family celebration special; and we will miss her Christmas Eve dance moves in the living room. She was cheering on the Patriots and her Gronk during football season. Sundays were also reserved for Scrabble with Bob and Brian - another Duane tradition.

She was a faithful woman attending Bethany Assembly of God, and lifted many up with her Praying Mamas Group.

Cathy was devoted to her family and friends. She leaves her loving husband of 65 years, Robert J. Duane; her daughter, Diana C. and her husband David Coyne and a son, Brian R. Duane all of West Springfield. She was also pre-deceased by her brother Salvatore Morena and sister Elizabeth Morena. Cathy will be dearly missed and always loved.
