Catherine Harland, 67, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020 with her family by her side in Springfield, MA. Cathy was born on April 2, 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Catherine Mahue (Farley) and Aurius Mahue.  She enjoyed a long career working as a special education teacher for over 30 years.  Upon retirement she opened her own home daycare that she operated for over 8 years. Cathy is survived by her fiancé, David Haskell, two daughters Erin (Adam) Merriam and Khristin (Jason) Merriam, five grandchildren Aaron, Ashleigh, Jarrett, Marissa and Jack, her brother Daniel (Tracy) Mahue as well as many other loving family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Michael, her mother Catherine and her sister Laurie.  She leaves behind her beloved fur-baby, Blue. Cathy will be fondly remembered for her larger than life personality and the love that she had for her family.  She enjoyed the time that she spent at the camp ground, doing needlepoint and making her own jewelry.  Cathy was a horror movie buff who was always looking for her next scary movie to watch. Private services will be held for the family and close friends.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St. Jude and/or the MSPCA.
