Charles E. Doe Jr.

1931 – 2019

CHICOPEE – Charles E. "Chuck" Doe Jr., 87, died peacefully at Harmony House Hospice Thursday evening surrounded by his loving family.  Son of Charles E Doe Sr and Christina (Findlay), Chuck was born September 29, 1931 in Waltham, moving with his family in 1947 to Western MA. He and his wife Ruth moved to East Longmeadow in 1966 where they raised their three sons. He continued to call East Longmeadow home for more than 40 years. Chuck was a retired operations manager for M & M Trucking and Schuster Express and later worked part-time at Medeiros Williams in the sales and parts departments.  He was a Master Sergeant in the National Guard.  Besides spending time with his family, Chuck enjoyed his morning meetings with his "Dunkin Donuts Crew" in East Longmeadow. Chuck was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth (Creran) Doe in 1994 and his son Michael Doe Sr in 2018.  He leaves two loving sons Bobby and his wife Diane of West Springfield and Ronald Doe Sr of Chicopee; a brother Frank of Chicopee; sister Charlotte Lamson of West Springfield; seven grandchildren Stephanie French, Michael Doe Jr, Rebecca Kudelka, Victoria Mello, Heather Doe, Ronald Doe Jr and Andrew Doe; and seven great grandchildren, with one on the way.  Besides his wife and son, Chuck was predeceased by his brother Gilbert Doe Sr.  The family wishes to thank Ruth Willemain and the entire staff at Harmony House for the compassionate care Chuck received during his stay with them.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 9:00am – 10:00am with a funeral home service starting at 10:00am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Harmony House Hospice, PO Box 6135, Holyoke, MA 01041.
